Well happy day for me, I have just become the proud owner of a 1876 produced 1871 mauser carbine. Handiest best balanced rifle ever and stunning quality:D (thanks Tikka)

My question is did the 1871 mdl have an Ejector like the latter mag fed rifles or did it only have the Extractor?? I have a chance to buy a spare extractor cheap and an ejector as well but I am not sure if the rifle is suppose to have one:redface:

Any insight would be appreciated.
This rifle is gonna see some miles in the bush as it a dream to hold, have'nt weighed her yet but I am glad it moves bullets at modest velocities cause it sure is a feather wieght:eek:

I can see a long term relationship with 43 mausers developing. :)

Only an extractor on the single shot M1871 Carbine. Repeating rifles have both and extractor and ejector. Buy them both - they're very scarce.

Roger that andy, and thanks I will buy both. I can see this might not be the last 43 mauser that I buy.

if any one else out there is looking for these parts a seller from flea bay has them for 12 pesos apiece, he also has some stock hardware, cut off levers etc.
If you can't the find listings let me know and I 'll dig out his email

Do you have any of the reloading components/dies?
I've had mine for a couple years now, planning on loading for it sometime, but never really got around to it. Do you know a source of dies/brass? I know Epps has some periodically, but I've called with no luck a couple times.

Great lead!

The seller is model88man Doesn't say if he'll ship to Canada (I'll ask and report back), and he only accepts Money Orders, but his prices are surprisingly low on these high demand, hard to find parts. I have a couple of bolts missing stuff like that and I might buy some.

Yes he ships here.

I have'nt started to collect components yet but I will be moving the project into high gear now. I was going to try Rayner for brass and proabley MT chambers or bullet barn for bullets but I have to do some measuring befor ordering.
