1873 Revolver Half #### Issues

Hi folks,

Still fighting with this revolver. Maybe there’s some new folks in here that can help.

Pietta 1873 Revolver. The cylinder stop is not staying down on half ####, and the cylinder is locking up.

The cylinder locks up nice when the hammer is forward, and as I’m nearing the half #### position, the cylinder stop comes down, cylinder spins freely- and as soon as I hit the half #### position, click, and the cylinder stop pops up, and locks the cylinder.

Any advice?

The tang on the locking lug that is activated by the hammer cam is probably broken off or bent. I think probably broke and there is still enough of a bar left to operate the locking lug to start its function but releases it before half-#### is reached by the hammer. Only a complete take-down will tell the story. Google VTI Replica Gun Parts for repairs if nessesary.
