Hello all , I have a Baker 12 gauge , higher grade with lots of engraving , pistol grip with checkering , damascus barrel , serial number 326* ,which is matching and marked everywhere . Gun is totally unrestored , with a fine crack in stock at the neck , which is very common . I would like to know if there is any interest for these in Canada ? And the price I should ask if I put it up for sale ? My gunsmith figures around $600 here , and way more in the U.S.

The point is, it's not an antique in Can. The fact that it is registerd would indicate its' status here.

If the address on the top rib is Batavia New York, I believe the company sold out in 1919. If you do a google search, I think you will find that W Baker was associated with several gun companies and died in the 1890s. The Baker gun company survived at several addresses with the last one being at Batavia. I think the most common address however is the Batavia one

I have a Bativia special with Homo-tensile steel marked barrells,Baker marked thier barrells with this from 1900-1914.
So my shot-gun is in there some where. And it's a shooter(with 2&1/2 inch shells)not worth much cost wise(unless you understand that Baker was the John Moses Browning of his day) and his two apprentices were the two smith brothers.
Whom went on to produce side locks of there own(LCS) of which they called LC Smiths a copy of Baker .
Lots of good things about a Baker not mentioned here! Like first three gun pat and many more!
