Got this old rifle from a friend the other day. 45-70. circa 1894.

Seems to have made its way to Canada probably when the family immigrated here.

Not a show pony but the bore is surprisingly decent and seems all original.

Thought it was interesting that is had British proof marks and a London retailer (EM Reilly) on the butt plate.

Very nice! The sights are interesting as well - 100 and 200 yards?

That is a Winchester "Express" sight and it is very common for them to have a broken blade or two! Put some penetrating oil on the cylindrical pin that holds the blades and VERY easily rotate them. They get broken off by guys forcing them on a rusty and dirty pin.
