You can get the rear sight sans rail. They are pretty common, have one on my 336.

What are your impressions of the Dark 336?
Im sure it's practical, it would just be nice if they designed it so you could have one without the other. Having to buy another rear sight to remove the rail, or a new rail to remove the rear sight is a poor design IMO.
Anybody have one of these yet?
Are they in stock at any dealers?
I see the 336 Dark at Epps but no 1895
The 45-70’s got pushed back, release was supposed to be end of Aug now it’s mid sept-beginning oct...
I tossed down a deposit and am on a waiting list, these are being touted as a special addition and runs could end at any time.
The ghost ring at the back can just be unscrewed, it can also be unpinned by the bolt on the side I believe. Yes the front post remains but just like the SBL when mounting a red dot or scope it’s not in the way.
