1895 Mauser.....?

I've recently acquired a Chileno Modelo 1895 Mauser in 7x57.
Only draw back on this gal is the #### on closing.
Fairly stiff for us 98 sorts.
Anyone ever do a reverse action modification?
I believe Dayton Traister makes a kit.
Not sure if it will work on this action.
I'm considering looking a bit further into this
if it is at all doable.

Looky....I understand from my 'smith that there is a conversion kit for the '93/94/95/96 action, and Dayton-Traister does make one. Some time ago he fitted one for his son, a '96 in 6.5x55. If you like I can ask for more details....Mike

I bought a Dayton #### on opening kit for my 1896 Berlin action, was $20 a few years ago, now maybe a decade ago! Time sures fly's bye!!

I just got off the phone with Dayton.
He still offers the conversion for this as well as a
trigger kit combo.
He's going to send me some installation instructions
to see if it's feasable for me to tackle...........hmmmm......

I didn't order the trigger kit option as the trigger is good.
