Hey there,
I've got an 1895 GBL with a serial number beginning in 93. From my understanding that puts it's date of manufacture in 2007, which is the year Marlin was acquired by Remington, but not till December of that year. Barrel is stamped with Ilion, N.Y., but I don't know if that necessarily means it was manufactured there, as I thought the plant wasn't moved till 2010, but I've got no clue haha.
Just curious as to whether my rifle would still be considered pre Remington or not, and if that has any effect on it's value? The thing functions fine, not necessarily looking to sell, just a newbie at gun serial numbers and wanna know what I've got, what with the price of these things skyrocketing.
Any help would be great, thanks!
