1896 Mauser rifle

[paradigm76]

Hey guys,

Not sure if this is the right category for my inquiry but here goes. I have a 7mm Mauser rifle that belonged to my great grandfather that he got when he was in the Boer war. I did manage to identify it in a Mauser book but am curious to see what it may be worth for insurance reasons. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Well you sort of in the wrong section, but it is pre 1900, so? ANyway the ones that are worth alot of $$$ are Orange free State 1895/96 guns if they are all original, no cut stocks etc. Go to the military section those guys would be able to help you out, but they will need barrrel/action markings etc. and good pictures, cheers Dale Z!
