Thanks guys!! :)

That looks like the heat shield that Marstar sells.

On a side note, that is the most beautiful shotgun i've even seen.

"Furniture" on a shotgun refers to the small bits and pieces, such as barrel straps, escutcheons, etc. It has nothing to do with the butt stock or the forend. The answer to your trick question is, "It's not wearing any wood furniture!" When do I get my 1000 internets?

Right now!!! +1000! :runaway:

Precise terminology aside any ideas what kind of wood/finish that is? I notice that the round knobby hoo-haa on the butt stock behind the trigger is more pronounced than hoohaa on the old factory stock mine has.

Not sure who the supplier is but, when a pistol grip sports a less dramatic curvature than some and has a rounded "hoo-haa", it's called a Prince of Wales grip. I have a couple of spare Winchester 1897 butt stocks at home that I keep for future projects. I'll have a look at them and see if they're the flattened grip cap, or the POW version that you're looking for.

In the meantime, here's a site that seems to have a variety of grip variants for W1897 butt stock grips:

Thanks straightshooter! That info takes me one step closer to finding a supplier! (hadnt checked this thread in a bit, sorry for the delay in my
reply) i beleive the stock is a semi-finished walnut, but i am far from certain on that.

That makes two of us. I hadn't checked it in a long while, either, and I see now that I never got back to you after checking the 2 spares in my gun room. They're both pistol grips with the flat grip cap, not the rounded version you're looking for.

Hope you find the supplier you're trying to track down. I'll remember this thread and get back to you if I ever see one.
