1897 to Trench Gun

Does anyone have any experience converting old Winchester 1897s to trench gun config? I found an old Winchester (1910 made) 1897 that was bubbaed already as the barrel was cut from original length to 20", which what I understand is Trench Gun length. How hard would it be to convert? Do I need any special tools or no?

The hard part is cutting the three grooves in the barrel for the screws that hold the handguard on. Other than that it's just installing swivels.
