with these new in the wrap lee enfields , on the tag it says 18ga. what does it mean?

I think it's just a coincidental part number and doesn't mean what you think it means ...

I am afraid you got yourself a nice little 18 gauge shotgun instead of a 303 Enfield ...
Therefore I will save you a lot of trouble and take it of you hands for $50.00...

My money is that the CE18GA is the drawing or part number for the complete rifle. The A likely stands for Assembly.

Most of the parts on the 50s Enfields had CE type numbers on them. Later these numbers were replaced once the British adopted the NATO stock number system.

In my opinion, it's just a stock part number (or drawing number as Stencollector suggests) ....

Here's another example from a 1971 L42A1 sniper rifle in its transit chest. Look at the CR 185 A on the label.
