1903 Build Thread ? (Receiver Group Buy ?)

Just wondering if anyone would be interested to order some 1903 receivers from (http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F11903RREM&name=Remington+1903A3+Stripped+Receiver+and+Bolt+Action&search=1903)

And use Irunguns to import them.

Would be fun to get this started like the M1 Thread.

I like to build M1903 and 03A3 rifles and find that receivers are a bear to find. I wonder if these receivers came off recovered drill rifles which have been demilitarized by having a weld applied to the junction of the receiver and barrel. If so, this is not a good thing as it has most likely annealed and softened the receiver ring.

Anything would be blocking imports of those receiver ? (ITAR or else)

I imagine they would have to be imported as firearms as they bear the serial number. May be better of finding more complete starters.

Even if ordering a few of them that would make it quite expensive @ 300-350$ each.

Gunbroker got a few nice and cheap drilled and tapped 1903. But unmolested ones are expensive...

It might be a good idea to quiz them about whether these are recovered drill rifles before ordering any. Their ad is silent on this, but it is worth checking. If they aren't drill rifle receivers, I'd join in a group buy for several.
