Well,
It took me over a year, but I am done my 1903 Ross restoration less a couple coats of BLO. It is was badly sportered, but the butt markings were intact! This was one of my most ambitious projects ever (splicing wood at the wrist), and I'm not doing it again.
Here are the results:
A bunch of parts were missing, so I either had to substitute or make them. The rear band is a modified T38 Arisaka band, and its bang on. The follower is from a 1905, the bolt take down is a 1905 one that I modified to be close, and I had to make the mag cutoff button and the rear swivel.
The stock was very difficult. The 1903 stock is very thin and flimsy, so very hard to duplicate accurately, so I had to add wood here or there to ensure a nice fit.
Enjoy the pics!
