1903 Springfield Barrel

Hey all,

I bought a 1903 springfield, and it came with a new unissued barrel as an extra. It would make more sense to me to keep the old barrel as it is matching the receiver and still functional... What is a fair asking price on the ee for the new un issued one?

Hi. Is it a 1903 barrel or a 1903A3 barrel? Gunparts, Stateside, wants $185.35US for a new replacement 1903 or '03A3 barrel. Be worth somewhat less in Canada.
Personally, I'd hang on to it. There are Springfields with bad barrels in otherwise reasonable condition out there.

There was a fellow at the Chilliwack show last month that was asking $175 for them. He didn't have any 1903A1 barrels, just 1903A3. The contours on them are different. They need to be turned down, to accept the rear sight mount.

As sunray advised, they aren't making any more of them. If you come across another 1903 with a bad bore, which is mostly the norm, you will have a spare barrel, to keep it shooting.

1903A1 barrels will bring as much as $200 in Canada. They are quite a bit harder to come by.
