I got a stripped receiver a few months ago and have be working a building a rifle for CMP Springfield matches. There were a few trials. The idiots at Sarco sent several wrong parts that I had to source elsewhere. The Barrel is a Criterion from the CMP and the Stock is a Minnelli curtiousy of Brownells. Numrich and Liberty Tree Collectors provided the correct bits and bobs that Sacro messed up on.

That is a dammed nice build-up from just a receiver!!
I should never have sold my old Smith-Corona... I thought it was past redemption, but then I see THIS !!

As long as you have a sound receiver you are GTG on an 03A3 build as all GI parts, incl NOS Rem 03A3 barrels, are still in circulation. A different story on the M1903s as original GI replacement barrels are slim to none nowadays. The Criterion barrels are well reported on. They make them for the M1903 as well, but you need to go thru the PITA of finding and installing a GI fixed rear sight base.

P.S. for chofo. that NOS scant grip stock that I got from you a few yrs ago found a home on a nice Rem M1903 receiver which I fitted with a NOS Hi Standard GI replacement barrel. It shoots like a house on fire.

It ain't the same, but my '03A4 really likes 168 grain match bullets(Hornadys HPBT's) with IMR4064.
The Gibbs fakes are built on DP'd receivers, as I recall. May or may not be safe to shoot. Way over priced for a rebuilt rifle anyway.

Aww c'mon Purple... you KNOW we want to see some pics of that Remmy!

Let's see how it looks next to SW28fan's gorgeous rifle!

( BTW what DID you ever do with that clapped out old S/C ?? Geezus... but that poor old bore was just gawd-awful.

Over the past couple of yrs I've re-worked and re-barreled 3 Rem M1903s and a Rem 03A3 with NOS GI barrels, stocks, and other re-parked or NOS GI parts as needed. They all look good and are all 2MOA or better shooters with handloads. Cosmetically they resemble the rifle shown. I wish to hell you would have sold me a Smith-Corona as well, but you didn't.:) Still looking for more M1903 and 03A3 receivers/actions/rifles with clapped out barrels.
