Hi guys !!!

One of my co-worker gave me this nice bayo when he learn that I was starting a small collection of bayonet. He told me that he has this one for about 30 years in a closet so by a gesture of extreme generousity from his part I must say gave it to me,you can imagine the total chock I got,

I have the book from MARTIN J. BRAYLEY on bayo I know it's a 1905 who was back in production in 1942 but I have a question about the markings

The flaming bomb ok,the 1942 date ok but my interogation his the U F H on top that concern me I think it's the makers mark but I must say I realy don't know what it is, so I'm turning to you guys to help me identyfied and learn more about my new jewel.

Regards
Jacques

Union Fork and Hoe was one of the major WW2 contractors who produced both the long 1905 and shorter M1 bayonets. This one was originally a 16" blade model that was shortened to the 10 inch M1 style as were many of the original 16" blade models. Many of the shortened models are stamped with the mark of the contractor who shortened them. The short M1 type was handier and just as effective as the original.
