Hello, greetings from Montana. I was wondering if anyone might be able to point me toward any parts sources for the 1905 Ross (Military). My old gal has been sporterized- stock cut just in front of the rear band, and as such I'd be in need of a replacement forearm to splice in (I'm thinking there probably aren't too many spare, intact stocks to be had), as well as a front band (with stacking swivel and screw), and a sight hood- anything else that I may be missing? The bore is excellent, and no corrosion on the metal surfaces- overall a very nice rifle except for the aforementioned handiwork...

Also, I was wondering what the correct sling would have originally been for these rifles? I have not been able to gather any information on this, and I'd be interested in learning of any sources for a reproduction sling- or any photos would also be great, as I know a local saddle maker who could probably fabricate me one, given the correct information.

Thanks!!!!

Send a private message to Rossguy re parts, he might sell to you since you're in the US.
Mike Kokolus is a stockmaker in PA. He has the patterns and can make replacement stocks for several different Ross models. Maybe he can make a forend extension too?

Tom's right on the money- Mike Kokolus in Dushore PA has patterns for both the complete stock and a spliceable light walnut forend- Multi transplants have been done well, as long as the middle band survived.
IF your MkII*** is US Contract (likely) you will need/want a canvas/web Kerr "No-Bukl" sling for it.Repros are available, and originals turn up from time to time, but are expensive. If by chance, Bubba desecrated a canadian contract Ross, I have a few spare original slings, or could provide you with a pattern and dimensions. As long as you're in the US, E me direct barryj@localnet.com for parts- I should be able to help you out- Regards-Rossguy

Thanks guys! As luck would have it, I am in possession of a spare Kerr sling (original- M1903 version), would this fit the bill, or would I need the M1917 version which is a little longer? Also, any thoughts on attachment- anything special for affixing it to the Ross, or would it attach as with the US rifles noted above?

Thanks again, will be in touch.
