1905 Ross Rifle, tell me about my recent purchase

That would be funny! With any luck, I'll be an 80 year old Ross enthusiast at that point and able to say "nope, I did those actually".

It goes together really slick when you get it right. I'm using a wood router bit in my spindle chuck running at about 4,000RPM. The whole thing ends up really square, I hand plane the upper surface then square everything off of it and one side of the blank, then center it using a dead center in a chuck on both the spindle and tail stocks. Then measure it up and start cutting. It's pretty foolproof compared to the dowel set up and will be much much stronger.
