Hi, I picked up these two bayonets and scabbards recently and was looking for some info on what i have here. Some of the markings make sense but others I am not too sure of. The two bayonet scabbards similar but have different mounting designs (one is a P-17 from what I understand). Any thoughts on what I have here? I want to keep the best of the 2 so any help would be great!

Bayonet blade base:
MA 1907 - Lithgow, Australian manufacture mark with pattern acknowledgement, as seen on Pattern 1907 and Owen bayonets
3 42 – Manufactured March 1942
XMA^ - Lithgow, Broad Arrow, (the "X" i think is a "bend test" mark?)

- Are they very common on the 1907 Pattern Bayonets or is this just a mix up?

Its a mix up.

- First bayonet is an Australian Pattern 1907 (Mangrovite 1942), second is a British Pattern 1907 (Chapman 1916).

The markings on the handle of the British 1916 Bayonet are still a mystery to me. That and the yellow paint on the scabbard... any ideas?

I think the C.F. on the pommel is a C.P the same as on the scabbard, just poorly struck or worn down. Is there another letter before the A?
The C.P. should be the regiment. Away from my books so don't know which regt. The A 10 would normally indicate either a battery in an artillery regt. or squadron in a cavalry regt. but the number 10 is too high for that. The 187 would be what'a called a rack number, just a sequential number within the regt. for tracking/inventory purposes. On the scabbard. clockwise from the upper left C.P regt., opposing broadarrows are the sold-out-of-service mark (meaning it was sold off as surplus) A1 battery or troop number, 164 rack number.
