1907 sling - 3 sets of hooks??????

It's a sling that I bought a few years back and never got around to using until now. I went to install it and with a set of hooks on the long strap, at each end, it surely won't fit through the keepers.
Is this something else? I can certainly cut off one set of hooks, but I'd like to know if this is merely a different style, and how it's used. TIA.

You bet! Slung up with my '03 or M1, I shoot better prone and sitting than from the bench. It's become a lost art.

I first learned it on Win 52s on my highschool rifle team.
