I'm wondering if anyone can help me with the value of this bayonet/scabbard? I have no idea how to grade something like this, but it appears in excellent condition to me. The scabbard looks good, leather and metal scabbard tip are good and the frog is intact. The blade is still silver, with some patina and evident of being sharpened. I understand this was Canadian issued in 1916 (if I read it correctly, the manufacture date was Feb. 1916). I believe these are extremely common, just wondering if there is anything special about this one in either it's markings or condition? Thanks.

Well... just be glad it's not a German SA Parade dagger! Look at the trouble they cause!:nest:
LOL, it is in good shape...and someone who more knowledge-able than I will sound off soon.

From the Pix, cannot see any Canadian broad arrow marks which usually appear in the wood of the handle or stamped on the top of the pommel. :(

As a kid, in Edmonton in the 1960's, you could buy these from the Army and Navy for $1.50 and take them home on the bus without anyone blinking an eye.

Today at gun shows and on forums, a bayonet, scabbard and frog like this would likely sell for $125-$150. A Canadian marked one with a C ^ will add another $50.

Prices have crept up on pattern 1907 bayonets, with the centennial period of the First World War. For the most part 1907s tend to sell for $200 and less, generally in the $180 dollar range unless you have a rare maker or exceptionally good conditioned piece.

Hooked quillion and quillion removed 1907s command a markedly higher price.

Ya that's a British issues P07. $150 would be right. As Tokguy said, no crybabies like the SA dagger thread. Although I know a few Welsh, Scottish and Irish folks that have no time for the Broad Arrow or "Butchers Apron".
