Hi folks, I just bought a 1911 Colt Competition in 9mm off the EE here, and am wondering about the magazines, a few questions....I am used to a Colt in .45, but as far as 9mm goes, this is my first. I see magazines with different capacities, ie 7 round, 10 round etc...will all these in 9mm fit my Colt ? Also, it has a magwell, the type that is part of the mainspring housing. Right now the gun has a Kimber magazine with a bumper attached, which is really easy to insert, but does that mean I will need mag bumpers on any new mags as well ? (fitting the mag without the bumper on it is a bit awkward with the magwell ) Since I'm not really into action shooting, (getting a bit old !!) should I remove the magwell and bumpers ?
And, what are good quality magazines, and where is a good supply in 9mm...?
And...where in Canada can you get factory Colt magazines ? I have looked, but they are scarce as hens teeth !

Thanks

I have bought and used the kimber 1911 9mm mags in mine and they are great . Most stores seem to sell them. There are many other brand 9 MM 1911 mags out there as well. Lots of sponsor sites usually have stock.

I’ve always used MecGars for Wild bunch, in fact if I am buying aftermarket mags for anything I always get MecGars

I have experience with Metalform 9mm magazines, with the "Springfield front ramp" configuration. Very reliable.
Wilson combat magazines in 9mm are supposed to be reliable but I have no experience with those.

I use Wilson Combat or Tripp Cobras in IPSC....top quality mags.
10 bullets in 9mm.
Even with a magwell, you won't have any problem because the mags have a rubber base long enough for speed reloads.
And yes, they fit a Colt Competition properly.
Brownell's sometimes sells packs of 3 WC.
