So I bought a 9mm Nork top end for my SA 1911 frame, It was 45ACP, I replaced the ejector with a 9mm one. The slide was super tight. So I started to file the grove the ejector sides in. I got it to the point that it moved back easyer but shes still binding up a bit.

Contiune taking more down?

Also I replaced the mag release catch 2 times and It keeps on breaking, whats the deal with that?

I would alter the ejector, rather than the slide. Is the slide movement OK when the ejector is in place? How is the magazine release breaking?

I believe when you convert to 9mm on a .45 frame you have to use a Colt Commander ejector ,maybe someone who has successfully done the conversion can speak up

Hi Robert.

1) If you take off the new 9mm ejector, does the slide move freely?
2) Hows the fit of the slide without the barrel installed?
2) If the ejector is the problem, is it rubbing on the sides, or at the top?

Hi Robert

Mag release catch. I assume you are talking about the little wing braking off. The spring in the mag. release may be too long and is completely compressed, it will then brake the wing off if the mag. release has to move further to allow the mag. into the frame. Try cutting two coils off the spring. This should help. Test it by installing the mag. release, inserting a mag. only part of the way in the frame, far enough in so the mag. release is completely depressed, then push on the mag. release, you should feel a slight movement and the mag should fall out of the gun.

I yet to replace the mag release yet and try it out, I got a replacment.

Here it is though...
