1911 barrel question?

hi all i have a norc thats probobly got 3-4000 rds thru it, is there a set count that replacing the barrel is recommended? any info or advice is appreciated!

I haven't heard of one being shot out.

I have heard of 1911 barrels being shot in excess of 100,000 rounds and still function perfectly.

45ACP, if you're shooting 230gr factory loads, you're probably shooting under 900fps give or take. You have a lot more mileage to go.

Larry Vickers wore out a 1911 barrel when he was in SF - something like 80K (jacketed) rounds - the only way they knew it was worn out was that the velocity dropped off.
