Has anyone ever done this? The parts are easily replaced and it might look cool. My MS Paint version is crude.

There are lots of "bobbed" hammers available out there. I sort of like a full beaver tail and sure the grip safety can be shaved down, but it would most likely need to be pinned at that point unless you got fat hands to really push it in.
