I just completed my project SAM commander frame. I tried mating it with my Norinco Commander top end. The slide doesn'st want to go in, so I lap it with the frame no problem. but when I tried finally installing the complete slide assembly, it would not slide back freely when I will try to pull the slide back. as if something is obstructing the barrel or the slide. Is it the upper/lower lugs, barrel link etc.? could you please help me. totally confused, any tips, it will be apprciated. thank you

That is like the phone call from my girl one time, truck will not run , what is wrong, who the hell knows.
Take the barrel out, will the slide work O.K.?
if so the barrel has to be fitted.
What about the disconnector?
Does the take link look O.K when the barrel is seated?
Etc, Etc.

its a stock barrel. without the barrel the slide will go travel freely. When the barrel is installed its not gonna work. if I'll try my complete commander top end to another frame. no problem it will cycle no hesitance...

I would try putting just the barrel on the SAM lower and see that it fits properly
and more important that it moves back & forth within the frame especially the barrel lugs .
Put the slide stop in & make sure that the barrel still moves back & forth without
binding. Also check that the recoil spring guide is not catching on the frame as it moves.

Since you have tried the top end on another gun & it works fine, then it would appear
that your problem is in the lower. I have a SAM commander frame with a Norc full size
upper on it & I found that the SAM frame had slightly different specs than most
other 1911's . I had to fit a number of parts but one they were done I did not have a problem
with the slide not going back & forth.
But each one if slightly different.

p

you're right the frame is the culprit. did everything didn't work. I will just take it to Roger K.in a few wks.
