Has anyone here tried an EGW, square bottom firing pin stop in their Norinco 1911? If so what are you thoughts and does anyone in Canada stock them? Did you get the oversized one and fit it or the ready to go, series 70 style?

I’ve read lots about them online but I would like some Canadian feedback with a Nork plus a Canadian supplier.

Thanks

Yea i have. You have to hand fit it. I also put a tiny beveled edge on mine. Awesome part. I think i got it from double tap sports

As follow up to my original post; I ended up ordering two EGW firing pin stops from Brownells and they came easy and quick. They only stock the oversized ones though but it was a pretty straight forward process filing it to fit in my older Norinco 1911. There are a couple really good u tube videos showing how to do it. A file with a safe, non cutting side would be helpful but I made what I had work by being careful.

I'll probably go the Brownells route as well. FV has EGW but not the oversized flat bottom stop. I do see that double tap has them but says for 9/38/40 and doesn't specify series. I'm looking for one for a 10mm series 70. I'll probably call a check. A comprehensive Canadian parts supplier would be great!

DoubleTap has an oversized FPSs for 45 and Ser 70. Easy to fit, I did it for 9mm STI 1911. DTS has both SS and blued. Call in and talk to them, Josko is VERY helpful ;)
