Just bought a new Norc 1911 commander with fixed sight. Run 100 rounds through, jamed 4-5 times, and shoots 5 inch lower at 30 yards.

How can i adjust front sight for shoot low?

Is there a possible extractor issue or just bad ammo?

I was using norinco 45CAP, head stamp as: 93 45ACP. That means those ammo are made in 1993?

If the gun is shooting low the front sight can be filed down.
It may only take a few strokes with a file.
Theres lots of ways to jam a 1911 ,be more specific.

Front sights come in various heights. You want need a shorter front sight or an adjustable rear sight. You can try different ammo. A different weight bullet might shoot higher. Just another advantage of handloading.

If you're new to pistol shooting, you should consider the possibility that the low hits might be due to your technique.

Extraction problems are probably indicative of extractor tension problems, or extractor hook problems (shape and/or cleanliness of the hook). I would first try to have the pistol warrantied, but if you like to do things yourself:

Remove slide from frame. Insert case against breech face under extractor hook. It should hold it in place, and it should require a small (but not tiny) amount of force to push the case down and free of the extractor. You should get a better view of the contact point that way, telling you if it's more tension or the shape of the hook that's the problem.

Also, if you are new to pistols what you are describing could be attributed to 'limp wristing'. If your wrist is not locked it and it breaks up after pulling the trigger it takes some of the momentum away from the slides rearward travel.

I think he's describing failure to extract, not failure to cycle: "case stay in chamber or half way out after firing"

you shoot 5" low at 30 yards is normal for fix sight because the bullet will drop. Fix sight is meant to close combat at about ten to fifteen yards, you shoot aim higher to adjust or use adjustable rear sight.

Thanks for the head up. I am new to pistol shotting, is there any places or sites that teaching hand gun marksmanship?

Thanks for the advise.
Yes, the orginal extractor could not hold a empty case in place. So i replace it with Willson Combat extractor, then it holds the case in place nice and tight. Went through another 100 rounds last weekend, 0 jams.
I have saw there is a extractor tension adjusting tool available on-line, does it work?

BTW, i noticed a impact mark on all the cases shoot through this pistol, which matches the outline of the breech, is that a problem?
