1911 front strap checkering

I've done one, it's a lot of work. I'm not good enough that I'll work on other people's guns though. Not sure if you've shot a 1911 with an undercut trigger guard, but I'd get that done at the same time if it were me, it makes them feel a lot nicer in the hand.

Here's a cheap alternative that you could try before going the checkering route (remove space between ht and tp):

No IPSC competition pistol is "complete" without undercut trigger guard (for higher grip), 20 lpi checkering on front strap and silver soldered extended mag well (does not extend length of grip to "fit in the notorious box) ... of course that was 20 some years ago - everything has changed these days ... have checkered DOZENS of front straps - slow precise tedious work...
