Not sure if I should post this here or in the pistol forum but I need some help. I was at the range today and fired the last shot in my mag and the slide didn't come back. In fact I can't move it back at all. I can't move it forward either. What has happened and how do I fix this? Please can someone help me?

Before you do anything, treat the gun as if it is loaded. It may have a live round in it.
Take a pencil or something similar, with the barrel pointing in a safe direction, finger off the trigger, and measure how far into the barrel the pencil goes. This will tell you if there is an empty case stuck in the chamber or a live round.

Be CAREFUL.

yes the mag is out and it definately fired the last round I was able to look down the barrel with a flashlight and can clearly see the empty round

Sounds like you may have sheared off the bottom lug of the barrel or broken the link.Try take out the barrel bushing and spring and see if you can slide the barrel out(or see whats broken)

The bushing and the spring come out fine but nothing else does. SHould I use force and try to pull the barrel out? I cannot dissassemble the pistol because I cannot get the slide to move enough to pop the takedown pin through.

What would cause the link to break or the lug to shear?

cleaning not an issue, I was at approx 230 rounds from the last cleaning. Re assembly should not have been an issue because it had previously fired 229 rounds. Yes it was a handload.

first it could be just a stuck case.
hold the gun and drive the barrel against a sold door frame, this should unlock the gun if this does not work. take the fireing pin stop out and pull the slide to the rear.

The tips from HS should work.
Another tip. If you cannot pull the slide back then try pushing the frame forward.
By that I mean hold the slide firmly & try pushing the frame forward away from the slide. It gives a little more force. Might work. Nothing to lose at this point.

Can you see a ring anywhere in the barrel? If so, you may have had a squib load that has bulged the barrel. In any case, take off the grips, put the frame in a padded vise, hammer back, safety off, mag out and give the front of the slide a whack with a rubber mallet.

HS you were right it was a stuck case. Sunrays tips popped that puppy out first try. The case has a ring around the base like it might seperate. No more range brass I think. Anyways all good now thanks guys. Jed
