Hello GNers!

I have a Ruger SR 1911 and I want to do the holster course and my local range (PoCo). I am not really interested in IPSC, but it might be fun one day. Anyways, just looking for a good all around holster for my full size 1911. I am not interested in one of those tricked out competition IPSC holsters that are super adjustable or expensive. Cheers.

Soley canadian makes one of the best holsters around
Order from cts or get in touch with tim (rollie100) on here.

I strongly recommend the Comp-Tac Minotaur Gladiator. its a hybrid leather/kydex holster with adjustments for retention. I really like both of mine. It fits very tight against the body and is very comfortable. very well built and solid.

I have one for my SR9, but I also have one for my SR1911, and its really great.

For a non competition range holster the Yaqui belt holster are small, and can be used with more then one style of semi auto pistol in case you have other pistols.

For a kydex pancake I think Solely Canadian is as good as any and better than some.

Personally I think a 1911 belongs in leather. I have used and continue to use the following:

Alessi
Mitch Rosen
Milt Sparks
JRC
5shot

Not that I wouldn't try others as well but that's what most of my stuff wears or has worn in the past.

Just got a Safariland 6378 (I believe of Amazon) for $26. Great paddle/belt holster (kydex) and a retention system that is easier than pie. Have plenty of high-ticket holsters (Bladetech, Comptac, etc), but this one has me pretty peachy.
