1911 in 10mm; help

I just found a purchased a 1911 in 10mm and am looking for some information on magazines and general 1911 information.

Is the frame of the 1911 the same for all 1911's?

Are the single stack mags all the same dimensions on the outside but redesigned to hold the different rounds by bending the walls of the mag? In other words, are the dimensions of the magazine cavity the same in all standard 1911's?

The 1911 that I got my hands on is a Springfield Armory frame with a Auto-Ordinance upper and a Colt 10mm magazine. I am assuming this answers my first question as I can not find a SA 10mm 1911, but I would like to be sure.

Who in Canada sells 10mm mags for the 1911 I described? (also part of the frame question)

Can I take any 1911 upper and fit it my 1911 frame as long as I have the proper mag for it?

As you can tell by the questions that I am asking, this is my first 1911. In all honesty, I bought it because it was a 10mm.

I don't know all that much (I'm sure others will help) but I think the Colt Delta Elite is just a 10 mm version of the 1911. I would think mags would be the same.

I have a friend who has on with an additional 9 mm barrel.

Rudy gave me the idea from a previous post... I now have 5" Springfield Armory 9mm and Colt Series '70 .38 Super barrels for my Colt Delta Elite. I already had Colt 9mm magazines from my Combat Commander in 9mm and I find that the factory 10mm magazines will hold/feed the .38 ACP/Super brass I have on hand. This gives me a three cartridge pistol by only changing out barrels/recoil springs & magazines.

For P-J... check the EE as 10mm magazines come up for sale once in awhile. There are a number of people who have 10mm single stack 1911 pistols, so they don't usually last too long, though.

Technically, you should be able to fit a .45ACP 1911 upper/slide on your frame but you would have to replace the "ejector" on the 10mm frame with the correct "ejector" for the .45ACP slide. [Which is accomplished by drifting out the small cross pin that holds it in place].

9 mm barrel and Mag for Colt Delta Elite 10 mm ?

Could your friend please tell us where he got the 9mm barrel and Magazine from , and how much money involved.
