1911 Mag questions

Competitive shooting, but I'm obviously no Grand master. Had some 10 round chip McCormick mags, they were epic, but can't use them in classic or limited, due to length. I'm probably looking at either ACT mags to match the one I have or Dlask.

Tripp is the way to go. Buy once - cry once. Wilson Combat are also considered top notch and I have had good luck with the Chip Power + mags too - but their followers suck.

My Wilson Combat ETM's have had issues since I got them. They seem to run a little better since I put Chip McCormick springs in them, but I wouldn't be quick to recommend them to anybody.

And exactly the opposite experience here. I have a wide variety of 1911 mags - some great - some not so much and some worse than that. My Wilson Combat ETMs excel in all of my 1911s. They are all I buy now - usually in 3 packs from Brownells. Someday I'll have enough mags to pre-load a whole range trip (maybe 250 rounds or so) - and they'll all be WC ETM.

Rob!

I just ordered 4 Tripp cobra mag for my new colt combat. The 2 8rd colt mag have some ftf on the last round. There are on sale on brownells.

Chip McCormick Power 10's and ACT's are the only magazines I'll buy for my .45 1911.

Tripp Cobra 10 round mags for the 9mm 1911.

It's funny you say that. When I emailed Wilson Combat and told them of my issues they already knew about it as it's apparently a fairly common problem. Oh, well luck of the draw it's not as if 1911's aren't known for being finnicky about mags.
