1911 Mags

Just bought a new Smith and Wesson and was wondering about getting some 10 rd mags for it.
Are all 1911 mags the same? or are they specific to the brand.
If not specific what would you recommend and where to buy?
Any help would be appreciated

Check out the Cobra mag from Tripp Research. Buy direct or Northern Republic Mag brings them in. They're the best I've used. Wilsons are a close 2nd.

Besides Tripp and Wilson, Chip McCormick Power Mags are another option to add to the list. Generally, 10 round .45 1911 magazines aren't as reliable as the standard 7 and 8 round ones.

I've got a bunch of the old original Shooting Star mags with the 8 round follower. But you can never have too many mags.

Wilson Combat ETM 500. These are an improvement over the 47D.
These are 8 round mags.
10 round single stack 1911 mags will protrude quite obviously from the base of the grip.

Second the Chip McCormick mags worked flawlessly on mine..
