1911 magwell installed, now grip safety doesn't work

Got a magwell off the EE for my spartan, Brownells brand. Was a tight fit, now my grip safety remains pressed in? Any advice or is some metal got to be removed from the MSH so it's not engaging the beavertail.

I would guess you got the 3 leaf spring slightly out of place

I've had this happen when swapping parts around. Pull it apart again and look for signs of contact between the grip safety and msh (rub marks in finish). If so, clearance slightly with a small file and try again. Trial and error, bit at a time.

grip safety is useless anyway
(but do make sure the spring is correctly seated, otherwise both your trigger and hammer wont work either)
