1911 outdoor winter fun. What's your choice of oil?

What's everyone's favorite oil to use for winter shooting? I just reciaved my gun butter. I found old #9 just doesnt cut it for me now. When I made the move to STI pistols from reg production guns it seems the fit and finish has less tolerances than that of my reg production guns. Thus they gum up faster in the cold. Has anyone else ever found this to be true?

Gunbutter when it's very cold does not sound like a good idea..

FP-10 all year.....does not thicken up in the cold and hangs on in the heat

just about any oil...in fact, never found an oil that didn't work in the cold. Grease on the other hand is never a good idea in the cold.

MPro7 oil when it's under 5 degrees, above that, I use Lucas red n tacky bearing grease (same as slide glide) works perfectly in all my pistols.

Synthetic Oil, Ballistol, Light Synthetic grease. NO FROGLUBE...

Any light oil....and basically wipe on, and wipe off, don't leave it "wet". I'm running air compressor oil right now....nice light oil with no odor... $6/L at CT

Mobil 1. Which weight. What seems to be the choice with motor oil? Is synthetic the choice?

I was out a few day's ago -11 with -19 windchill shooting a 1911 lubed with Mil-Comm MC2500 oil.Pistol worked flawless useing Wolf re-loads LRN 230g..

People seem to love to complicate easy problems. Pretty much any regular light oil will do. I tried Rem dry oil but had all kind of issues. A few drops of Hoppes/Mobil 1 work just fine.

theoretically there is lots to debate. Practically I've never had cold problems with lithium grease, g96, remain oil, 3 in 1, on bolt actions, pumps, revolvers and auto pistols.

I would like to high jack this thread, and like missy Elliot I wanna put my thing down flip it and reverse it. Who has had cold weather problems and what was the temp, gun, and lube?
