I am not against ordering from Brownells however in an attempted to not have to deal with cross border..etc.. I was wondering if anyone knows of a Canadian retailer that carries 1911 parts , in particular looking for Wilson Combat Anit-shok buffers and in near future other various parts.

I already checked and Marstar doesn't carry them. On line search just gives me list of American dealers.

Thanks

I wish there were more options for 1911 parts in Canada. Dlask sells some quality 1911 parts.

The buffers can often be found at local gun shops. They're a small item that don't often make the webpage inventory lists.

"...wish there were more options..." Most parts are American made and the Canadian market is too small for the manufacturers to bother with. And they require an expensive exporter's licence.

what specific parts would you guys be looking for other than the usual? im thinking of a career change & a gun parts/accesories outlet was what i was thinking.....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I usually go to brownells but I would rather buy from a canadian company plus the 100$ limit is a PITA. You can't go wrong stocking quality springs, mag wells, oversize or extended mag release, barrels, quality mags, SIGHTS!! I have a hell of a time finding replacement sights for the various 1911's I have. Or if I find what I need they won't ship to Canada. Basically all the usual parts that guys upgrade to.

thanks for the info! keep it comin guys this is genuine market research for me lol
Good place to start would be 1911 parts, not only are they popular but Canam just sold, in the last 4 months (and is still selling at a good rate) the NorC 1911a1! So, thousands literally, of new unimproved 1911's looking for mild to maxed out upgrades have been added to the already thousands out there!

The $100 limit was JUST raised to $500... Barrels, actions, etc still controlled, but $500 in small parts now allowed... Tons of threads about it.

I think it would be easiest to stock complete lines from one or two reputable manufacturers. Sure, guys have their preferences, but if we got used to having Ed Brown product always available, I'm thinking that Ed Brown product would become pretty darn popular. For example.

Finding a manufacturer that will distribute in Canada is another issue, as sunray pointed out.
