1911 pistols are semi-auto right ?

ah okay, thanks guys. This is the best newbie friendly forum I've ever had the pleasure of being a part of. thanks alot. oh btw I was thinking of something higher end then a norinco, a used Springfield armory perhaps or a Para Ordanance

hoegaardenzo, yes 1911s are semi automatic. When you load a magazine you have to rack the slide which cocks the hammer and chambers a round. You fire off each sequential round without having to do anything other than pull the trigger. When the last round is fired and the mag is empty, the slide locks open and you insert the next mag, and let the slide rock forward. Rinse, repeat.

So you're looking at a SA 1911, good choice in my opinion. Don't be afraid to look at other major manufacturers and do a bit of research. You could find that "one".

Yeah the best thing about a SA versus a Norinco is that with a springfield you get the great lack of quality that you'd expect from a Norinco,

With the Norinco you get an annoying pistol that just works and works.. it's insulting because one doesn't expect it..

Anyone know abou the Tanfoglio 1911's? Are they any good?
