Hey guys,

Lately I have been having a few problems with my Essex 1911. For starters, my shells keep getting jammed before they load into the chamber. They barely move out of the mag before they are stopped while moving up the frame. However this doesn't seem to happen when I load the mag with only one or two rounds. I am wondering if this is being caused by the mags (I have tried in all three of mine with the same results) or if it is something else. The second problem is that my casings are not being ejected properly. Often the casing is getting stuck inbetween the barrel and the slide. Would this be caused by the recoil spring or the ejector? I was taking a look at my friend's .45 and his recoil spring is smaller than mine and seems to fit better in the gun. When you take his 1911 apart the spring fits in there nicely so it doesn't come flying out (his plug screws into his spring guide), whereas my spring will come flying out if you aren't holding onto it. Does this sound normal? Sorry I know it was a mouthful but I can't understand what is going on with this thing.
