Hey Guys,

This may sound like a silly question, but I just want to make sure. Can I shoot 38 super 1911 mags with 9mm ammo without any problems? Now, I've done it with my Sig P220 in 9mm, and bought 38 super mags for it and it worked out fine. Does the same apply to 1911's?

Thanks in advance for all your responses!

Justin

They will either work or they won't. That's been my experience. My brother has a pre-series 70 .38super and a 9mm barrel.

Oddly enough the .38super mags work better when using the 9mm barrel.

I use more than a dozen .38 Super mags from several different manufacturers in my 1911 pistols, for both 9mm and .38 Super use.

I have experienced no particular problems with this practice.

Of course there is always the possibility that your gun/guns might not be so tolerant.

Cheers.

Thanks guys! The reason I ask is, because I can't seem to find very many makes for 9mm 1911 mags, they're usually 38 super. Thought I'd confirm. Thanks again!
