Not a big 1911 guy so hoping someone can help me or point me to the right place.

if my front sight on a 5" 1911 is 0.180" tall how tall should the rear fixed sigh be to shoot point of aim?

also would Novak cut sight fit Colt 80 series?

You’ll need a .225” rear sight for a 20y (720” ) POA/POI.

The Novak will fit the S80 Colt slide. It will require machining for fitting tho.

A plain Series 80 gun would have the same dovetail as for GI guns for the rear sight and a staked front sight. If you go to the trouble of having the slide milled for a Novak rear sight, you should also have the front converted to dovetail, as it is much stronger than staked.

.225 is a good point to start.

I suggest getting a kensight or DP adjustable. Reason being is, my Dan wesson is .180 FT, with a .325 rear. My sig is also a .180 ft but with a .355 rear. My para is .165 with a .325 rear. All are 5 inch barrel, so there is a slight discrepancy. An adjustable rear will give you some flexibility in that sense
