As far as STI pistols are concerned, which one would be the better IPSC gun, I like the Edge and the Duty One, but cant get both. Anyone have experience with this? :confused:
 
Edge(2011) is a modular double stack gun. Bigger mag well + tapered mag = easy fast reloads. The modular grip lets you customize it to fit your hand perfectly any way you want, and if you screwup you remove it and put a new one on. Where as the 1911 grip and frame are one solid peice. If you want to shoot IPSC standard division go with the Edge, both of mine were great right out of the box. The Duty One is a great gun in its own right but out classed by the Edge for IPSC standard and USPSA limited use. If you prefer having a light rail then you could get the Tactical and have the best of both worlds. You can also build up an Eagle to look like an Edge but with extra options that are not offered on an Edge, like having a tri-topped slide. What ever gun you order be sure to spend the little extra to have Sean install an Aftec extractor before shipping it off, they are expensive compared to a stock unit but worth every dollar in the long run.

For competition, get the Edge.

No question.

Mine has run perfectly for two years now and I wouldn't hesitate for a heartbeat to buy another.
