Anybody know of a failproof ambidextrous thumb safety for a 1911 Colt .45? I installed a classy stainless steel one on my pistol and the the right side snapped off in short order. Thanks,Alex.

Try a Wilson Combat, or Ed Brown

Just remember they are NOT drop in parts , get a qualified smith to install one . Try Gunnar at Armco ( banner up top ).

Ed Brown Ambi's on my 2 Delta Elite's work great and have an excellent reputation.No failures so far after about 5,000 rounds where the safety was intentionally used after every time the mag was inserted and the slide was racked to go into battery condition,the safety was tested.Don't make a mistake like a fellow shooter did by scrimping on an unknown or cheaper brand.Go Ed Brown or Wilson Combat and you should not have any problems under normal use.
