Here's some pictures of the Garate Anitua revolver I purchased from Wolverine's giant surplus firearms sale. It seems to operate properly, index each cylinder and have a decent bore.

I bought it because I thought it was a cool WWI copy of the S&W break actions.

What do you think?

Here's a side by side with a Schofield. The Schofield's barrel was cut down after its military life. The Schofield definately was a better design from the standpoint of ease of loading. It can be opened with one hand by pulling down on the release that doubles as a rear sight. The GA has a very stiff release that requires a strong grip with each hand and a pull upward to unlatch it. On the other hand, the GA has double action, and the Schofield, single only. Both have unbelievably narrow sights, much like looking at a knife edge.

I can now confirm that it shoots. 452 diameter bullets produced satisfactory accuracy at 20 yards. It shoots about 6-8" high at 20 yards from what I would see as the point of aim. The heavy trigger and exceedingly small grip makes it a bit of a challenge, but it certainly would have been a useful pistol in its time.
