Hey folks, today I picked up a 1916 SHT LE 111 made by LSA. Its a 4 number matching ( bolt, rec, barrel, rear sight) with a very good bore. It also has the mag cutoff intact and fully functional. It also has walnut stock fore and aft but yes its has been sported. Marked FTR on the right wrist but I am not sure what was repaired unless the trigger guard was replaced because the wood around it has a repair, but still appears to match. How scarce are these rifles? I haven't seen very many of them in my travels.

My brother just bought a full wood LSA. He payed $600 for it but I am sure it’s worth double that. From Wikipedia it says the LSA Enfields were the best ones produced but went out of business because they couldn’t produce them fast enough.

LSA wartime production was 364,213 rifles. So less common rather than rare would be a better description. Generally speaking they are considered to be of a little higher quality and to be more desirable than an Enfield or BSA. However it is likely that only true Enfield collectors would really care that much.

I do not believe that they warrant a substantial price premium. Value would really come down to the condition and originality of each individual rifle.

Less common works for me to. I was in between coats of paint and trying to throw a thread together fast..henceforth the rare part. I have heard of them but cant remember ever looking at one. I paid a very reasonable price for it and was really looking for a enfield stamped rifle, but in the whole gun show this one was the only one at a reasonable price. All the others were 1.5 x higher in price. I even got the fella down $30.00 on it.

Took it apart last night and it looks to be in good shape. Might very well be another one I will restore back to full military config, after shooting it first of course!
