what would be the value of an SA marked 1917 Remington mosin? full length. some pitting on the receiver and on the barrel but not bad. bore has lots of life. bolt matches. and its in a proper stock with a proper hand guard. id say 8/10 condition (normal mosin scale here people so remember a 10 is actually an 8 normally) ill upload some pictures tonight.

thanks for the input

barrel has lots of life left. could use a new firing pin as his ones worn down but its adjusted properly so that it will make a good hard strike

400ish. Not counterbored would adds value. Matching bolt adds value. Given that it's in a finn spliced stock with finn hangers it is unlikely to be matched. The latest one to be listed was a 1900 Sestroretsk which was listed higher and sold quick (so likely for listing price) but it was in a better shape.

300-450$ for it.

In regards to the 1900 Sestroretsk, those particular ones are much less common than a Remington. I have seen about 2 dozen Remington M91s come up for sale on CGN, but I have only seen 3 Sestroretsks come up for sale.

With the big barrel vise mark next to the SA stamp and all that pitting on the roll mark, I'll be a pessimist and say it's worth $200 or so, max. Honestly, at anything more than that, at the LGS, it would just sit and sit until it dropped to $150.

I'm skeptical that stock is original to that gun as well. The Finns likely swapped it. Remingtons generally had walnut stocks when new.

Good note on the Sestroretsk, thanks. It was considerably over 400 though ;)

The stock is definitely not original - you can see the fingerjoint splice on the pictures. It's the counterboring in my opinion that will kill the value of a finn mosin (or make it more valuable if absent)

Barrel is counter bored about an inch down from the end of the barrel to the crown. Bolt and barrel match reciver. As for the barrel vice marks. It looks like I was placed in a vice but the barrel donsnt look to of been removed. Mag does not match the Reciver. And I never thought of looking at the but plate. And yes its a 2 piece stock. Any other information and pictures I can grab tonight.
