It already has a side mounted dove tail screwed on. This thing hadn't seen the light of day for 40yrs before I got it. Barrel is full length, fore end shortened. 2 holes in rt side, 2 on left where parts were removed? An aftermarket vertical dovetail mount on the left side in front of the safety. Dove tail 0.495 tall, 0.615 wide, tapering to 0.473 or so. Is this dovetail a standard dimension? Now or from the '60's? Just looking to make it functional. I can text/email pics to wants to see. Can I just buy a generic Williams or something?

Looks to be a Willaims FoolProof sight base mounted onto the rifle.

This one is listed as an 'FP-RU', and there is another similar one listed as '5D-81'

I would imagine that there are many Willaims sights that have the part that will switch out, they all look very similar.

So to answer your question, yes, go check out a generic Williams sight and see if it will fit.

The two holes on the right of the receiver are the rivet holes that were used attach the charger bridge which has been removed from your rifle. There will be another two more for it on the left hand side hidden behind that sight base.
