As in title . 1935 Mauser Banner Brazilian 7x57 unfired w matching bayo , test target sadly has not been located as yet . Muzzle cap etc . Basically as new . Anyone seen any recent sale prices . Stateside they are crazy ? $2500-3k .
Thx

With all accessories, such as matching bayo, sling, muzzle cap (test target is quite large and often didn't get sold with the rifle) these lovely pieces will fetch up to $4500C.

They need to be absolutely pristine to get such prices though, as in zero safe kisses etc.

Any evidence of being fired after leaving the factory will reduce the selling value by 20-25%.

The rifles were meticulously cleaned, after being test fired with corrosive ammo, at the factory, before being wrapped and put into a crate.

Saw a couple of them at the gun show this weekend. One with out the target and bayonet but in very good condition for around 2000$ and the other with test target/bayonet for 3200$. Both appeared to be unfired and still had traces of cosmoline around the action.

Appears to have been varnished or True-Oiled, you can see bare spots near the receiver/stock edges. Photos can be deceiving, so without examining the actual rifle can't be 100% sure.

That doesn't look like dried Tru Oil to me.

It looks like a product called "Sheath" from Birchwood Casey. I use it on my firearms at gun shows to alleviate the rusting affects of those folks with SWEATY/ACIDIC hands.

It leaves a shiny finish that will evaporate off after a couple of days.

He might have even used a light, non detergent oil to bring out the color of the stock.

Those rifles come from the factory with a waxed type finish, that can only be derived from Linseed Oil that's been allowed to cure properly between coats and hand polished later.

That rifle does have some safe kisses but appears to be legit from the photos.

I would like to see pics of the mag follower and bore to be certain.

The rifles were properly cleaned at the factory before being crated as the ammo used to check them for accuracy was corrosive.

Most of the rifles that were issued, definitely show the wear and tear. Most of the issued rifles were later converted to M1954/30-06 and later M1968 carbines with a H&K rear/front sight and muzzle brake.

About 15% of the 1908/1935 rifles were never issued and those are mostly what we see here in Canada.

Finding one unissued, is more likely than finding one that isn't

:) :) stock is original finish . I’ve owned others back late 80’s early 90’s US buyers loved them :) Very likely u are “ seeing “ the result of me
