A friend is doing estate work and is wanting a value on a 7mm Mauser. He bought it many years ago, it looks new, rich blue, match 4diget s/n, the bayonet and the origional target dated April 20th 1937 signed at the factory are all same s/n. I will try and attach the pictures. I would really appreciate your thoughts, TX Harold

We would really appreciate more information. Your description could match 20 different mausers.
Is there a crest on the receiver? Barrel length? You're right, pics would explain it a lot better. :)

Wow!!! Even the target people from the factory is included. Looks like a possible Brazilian 1903 with the white still in the stampings. Thats worth quite a bit.

It's a mod 1935 Brazilian, with banner and all matching numbers, if the bayonet is matching as well, qualifying target and if the frog and sling are with it, $900-$1200.

Those are incredible examples of pre WWII, peace time mausers. They are worth every penny.

I personally wouldn't shoot that rifle. Just put it in a nice warm, dry, dark safe and let it sleep. Bring it out every once in a while to add a little "Sheath" to it for preservation purposes and tuck it in again. There are quite a few out there that have been fired, pick up one of those if you absolutely have to shoot one.

The Brazilians, loaded up a 140grn round to 2800fps in the 1-9 1/2 twist x 29in barrel.

They are extremely accurate with loads producing that velocity. It's not uncommon for them to shoot into 3/4 in at 100 yards.

Beautiful rifles, a blast from the past. The 1908 Brazilian Mausers are just as nice but have their receivers in the white.

Wow, that is an absolutely gorgeous mauser. Even got the bayo and factory target for it. You should be proud of that one.

My 1908 will bust a clay pigeon every time at 200m. if I do my part. I believe the Mauser long rifles are some of THE best military rifles of all time, and $1000 is a bargain, considering what you get in modern sporting rifles for that price.

That's quite the piece of history you've got there. Definitely a rifle worth keeping in its pristine condition.

I'm inclined to agree that the 1908's can be exellent shooters (especially if your eyes are sharp)!

Of course, if you're looking for a "shooter" it seems like the 1908 Brazilian Mausers pop up from time to time at pretty reasonable prices.
