I have a box of Matrix 194 gr rebated boat tail bullets that I want to try in my 300 WinMag
My power options are Retumbo, IMR 4831 , IMR 4350 or RL 22
Anybody have any loads worked up with this bullet and any of these powders?
If not would you suggest going with a loads from Nosler or Hornady 200 gr book load data
this load is for hunting moose and bear

I load a 200grn Nosler using 69grns of IMR 4831

It may be at max or over max, but my rifle shows no sign of over pressure, and the bullets are seated way out, longer then max OAL to keep the jump to the lands short but still fit in the mag.

Use with caution... !!!

Since you already have the bullets and powder an arranged marriage is a logical next step. Most of the agonizing initial decision making process is done for you. Seat close to or on the lands and use the starting data for 200 grain bullets. Work up until you either get ejector marks, sticky bolt lift or total crap primer pocket life, then back off until you don't have any of those things. Hopefully you find something that wants to shoot during the process, but if you don't, move onto the next powder and start again.

OR, get some H1000. Somewhere between 77 and 80 grains your rifle will say "Yeah baby" and you'll have your load.

Dogleg when you make that kind of comment I have learned to pay close attention - Im ordering an 8 lb container of H1000!
I wish I could use Varget - I have 20 lbs of that stuff LOL

H1000 is what you want. Or rl22. But h1000 is more consistent. I find matrix Bullets shoot shoot similar to bergers pressure wise. Accuracy nodes, not so much.
